What is Coronary Angiography?
Coronary angiography is a specialized medical imaging technique used to detect blockages or narrowing in the coronary arteries. It is a minimally invasive procedure that helps doctors assess blood flow to the heart and diagnose coronary artery disease (CAD), heart attacks, or angina.
During the procedure, a thin catheter is inserted into a blood vessel in the arm or groin and guided to the coronary arteries. A contrast dye is injected to make the arteries visible on X-ray imaging, allowing precise detection of any abnormalities.
